I Like Wine … and Beer!
So why am I giving up?
It’s time to come clean … and be clean from alcohol.
I hate writing this on a social media platform. It has a certain amount of accountability. 😫
30 Days
Today I’m starting a 30 day cleanse from the “good stuff”. I say good because I genuinely like the taste of a nice wine and some quite specific beers. And I won’t just have any beer just because one is offered. I’m not an animal!
But Why…
… you may be asking!
In one word? Sleep!
Yep, that’s it! And of course the benefits of a good night’s sleep. A few are mentioned at the end.
I have a very stable sleep routine. I head to the cot every night around 9pm and wake up to fresh coffee around 5am. A nice round eight hours in bed.
Except … with only a wine or two, I can wake up feeling like I was “knocked out with a bat” rather than a glorious sleep in the sack.
Sure, I can get through the morning hours but in the afternoon? I’m after a nap.
I’ll fall asleep watching TV. That’s what old people do! (I can say that, I’m 62!) But I know there is a connection with alcohol.
