Losing 10kg Was Easier Than I Thought
And keeping it off is just as easy …
Look, I didn’t know this was going to happen to be honest.
I’ve been hovering around 84 to 86 kgs like it seems forever! I was overweight but not enough to make substantial changes.
It was like, “I’m not that overweight!”
Being diagnosed with sleep apnea, I was told losing weight was one of the solutions, maybe not all, but it was the first thing the specialist mentioned. [Plus a link].
“But I’m not that overweight!”
There was no emergency to lose weight!
The Half Marathon Approach
Fast forward and I sign up for a half marathon. 21.1km of fun!
This was not new! I didn’t see it as a way to lose weight. It hadn’t had any real effect the previous seven or eight half marathons I’d run.
I’d lose weight on race day and then easily put it back on with a few beers and a burger (or two)! I saw it as a skill!
This time though, something was different: I engaged a coach.
The coach was “running only”. No dietary advice. No strength training programs. Just running.
