OMG! I started a YouTube Channel!
Learning in Public!
I’m sharing my journey to encourage others to do the same if they are sitting on the fence.
And, as might be expected, it starts off with a heavy sigh! 😉
This has been a while coming. I was watching so many videos by others it got to the point of, get on with it or find something else to do!
The point is, I don’t know how this will go, where it will lead, or what I will learn, but I want to enjoy the process.
I bought so much gear that I’m not using, just a very old tripod, my iPhone 13 mini and a Rode mount … in my office. All very basic.
Lessons learnt already
- I need to look at the camera more, I think, let me know.
- The glare from the office window in my glasses is distracting.
- Could probably slow down a little. (Have always been a fast talker — though not in a “salesy” kind of way!)
- I didn't thank the viewer for watching — error 101! Sorry about that!

Software
I’m using iMovie for editing. This will likely change as I get more experience. I’m trying to minimise the hurdles to get going. And this works for now.
I am editing on a Mac Mini with 16GB RAM. I think that is enough for now. I’ll see if the rendering (is that the word?) takes too long and makes me wish for greater speed! (I can be impatient! 😂)
