Here is an update on how it’s going and some feedback from my Garmin watch that tracks the health metrics I care about.
There are two key metrics I want to see improve:
Sleep — I have noticed that while I may sleep through the night even though I’ve had a drink or two, the sleep score will still be low. This is because sleeping after some alcohol is like being “knocked out” with a baseball bat, according to Andrew Huberman. As opposed to being “out like a light” as you might describe a kid after a hectic party!
Stress — it is easy to see what alcohol does to the stress levels in your body after you’ve had a couple. A friend of mine mentioned this and, to be honest, I thought he had been drinking. But, I dutifully went home, had a beer, and to my amazement, the increase in stress was worrying. Like it hits you in the face!
Now I know that a wrist based gadget is not going to be the most accurate device in the world. But as I said in the previous story, the trends are what interest me.
The Stress Trend
This may not look like much but there is an obvious downwards trend, which is what I’m…
