Using a Trigger Could Help You Achieve Your Goals
I was surprised how a simple word or phrase could be so powerful!
That’s what happened with a business I am working with on their strategic plans.
Part of the process is to reflect on previous years and consider what they achieved and what they still need to overcome. I asked the group to consider the previous 2–3 years, during the COVID-19 pandemic.
When it came to discussing what each group had come up with, the lightning bolt hit!
The first person to talk was an Operations Manager. Being in manufacturing, these people are pragmatists. There is no B.S. with them and they’ll call it if they hear it.
“We were using paper to track work and with the pandemic and so many changes and restrictions being made on us, we had to do something to capture data and customer orders, manage stock levels and communicate with each other and customers. But we just didn’t know what to do, or where to start.”
Apparently, the pandemic had worked in their favour. Without going into detail due to privacy, they were receiving orders thick and fast due to changes and restrictions in other areas of the market!
But this brought problems as well as opportunity.
