We’d just been to church. As we entered the house, my wife noticed sand on the floor. I hadn’t wiped my feet properly.

“Sorry babe!”

I went to the bathroom. The window glass was broken. Weird.

Then I panicked. I raced to my office. No typewriter.

“Babe! Check your jewellery!”, I shouted.

We’d been robbed. Not much. Just the typewriter from memory (akin to a laptop today) and then, later, we discovered some tools from the shed were missing.

When you get robbed, you feel violated. It’s less about the “things”. It’s more personal — even if there is no physical harm.

After this event we reviewed our security. We checked everything twice when we left the house and also when we came home.

If we do this to protect our physical environment, how often do we take the time to manage our personal and mental environments?

Not as Much as We Might!

I’d argue we don’t do it as much as we might or as much as we can.

Imagine your home. It has boundaries. These are very specific and legally yours.
