We don’t intend to, but we often compare ourselves with others. It’s almost second nature. Like it’s in our DNA.

Yet we are all on our own journey. Very discreet from literally everyone else.

I remember when I first discovered Gretchen Rubin of The Happiness Project, it was called something else back then. I read her story of how she started a newsletter with about seven friends and family members. Small beginnings.

I thought, if she can do it, I can do it.

Then I discovered her background in journalism and I realised she had skills I didn’t have. So I felt as though I was behind the 8-ball now — she had a secret power I didn’t have.

Then I discovered others …

David Sparks from MacPowerUsers and MacSparkyPreviously a lawyer, now a full time creator who pumps out high quality content on an ongoing basis. He also manages a high quality, high volume online forum and podcast, which has over 700 episodes. And in his “spare” time turns out woodworking furniture in his back shed! Oh, and seems to almost live at Disneyland!
